Seasoned Broiled Steak

Posted on05.10.16 by Nelle

Seasoned Broiled SteakI used T-bone steak, but you can use the cut of your choice for Seasoned Broiled Steak. You can make this plain or with seasoning and you can even add a bit of lime juice, if you like. We made ours with Garlic Herb Mix.

Ingredients for Seasoned Broiled Steak

4  4-6 ounce 1″-2″ thick beef steaks (Thickness will effect cooking time, mine were about 1″ thick.)

1-2 tablespoons Garlic Herb Mix

2 tablespoons lime juice (optional)

Instructions for Seasoned Broiled Steak

Bring your steaks to about room temperature (This takes about 30-45 minutes and allows them to cook more evenly.)

Place oven racks at 4-6-inches below broiler element at the top of your oven. Preheat broiler to low broil, if you are able to choose, if not, just turn on your broiler.

Sprinkle both sides of your steak with Garlic Herb Mix. Place on a broiler pan or in a large iron skillet. Slide under broiler element on top rack of oven. Allow to broil for 7-10 minutes, turn steaks and broil on other side for an additional 7-10 minutes, or to desired doneness (see below).

For lime juice option, in a small bowl, combine lime juice and 1-2 tablespoons Garlic Herb Mix (depending on the size of your steaks); rub over both sides of your steaks. Cook same as above. This will give the meat a bit of a tangy flavor. I like this, my hubby does not.

*Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have a medical condition.

How do you like your steak? I like mine medium, a little pink inside.
